Alexander Kubic, Jr. 86 of Mt. Pleasant went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2024 at his home. Alex was born April 10, 1937 in Charleroi the son of the late Alexander "Alec" and Mary Shelpinsky Kubic. Alex graduated from Charleroi High School in 1955 and received a B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1959. After graduation, he completed his active duty obligation in the Army Reserve and then went to work for the U.S.Steel Corp. at their Homestead Works as an Alloy Plate Metallurgist. He then went to the Bettis Atomic Power Lab as an Associate Engineer and worked on the development of a new Surface Ship Nuclear Reactor. He ultimately completed his working career with Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel Corp. at their Allenport Plant and retired in 1999 as the Superintendent of Metallurgy and Quality Assurance. Alex was preceded in death by his first wife Adrienne in 1983 and a son David in 2014. Surviving are his wife Frances " Tancy" Gesinski Kubic, a daughter Andrea and her husband David Moody of Springfield, VA, a son John and wife Kristine of Glenshaw; stepsons,Terry Gesinski and wife Mary Ann of Mt. Pleasant Pa. and Gary Gesinski and his wife Cindy of Fort Myers,Florida. Also, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8pm Friday, February 2, 2024 at SLATER-REGA FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 730 W.
