Alexandra "Alice" V. Welc 92 of Mount Pleasant passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at RNC of Greater Pittsburgh, Greensburg. Alice was born September 27, 1923 in Mount Pleasant the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Shea Witek. Alice was a member of the former Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church and St. Pius X Church, Mt. Pleasant. Surviving are her three sons, Edward Welc and wife Gloria of Greensburg, Daniel Welc and wife Paula and Allen Welc and wife Sherri of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Dr. Christina Welc, Dr. Michael Welc and wife Dr. Jillian, Melanie Welc, Stephanie Welc, Jonathan Welc, Noah Welc, Chris Ansell, Travis Welc and wife Casey and Brandon Welc; great grandchildren, Michael, Madeline, Meredith, Maura, Kairi, Kearsten and Travis, Jr.; siblings, Helen Witek of Mt. Pleasant, Josephine Cernuska and husband John, of Southwest, Walter Witek and wife Agnes of Mt. Pleasant, Edward Witek and wife Leona of Irwin: sisters-in-law, Adeline Welc of Michigan, Margaret Zufall of Ohio, Betty Kendi and husband Eddie of Mt. Pleasant, Josephine Cashera and husband Remo of Mt. Pleasant, Dotty Welc of Monroeville, Paula Welc Kapr of Southwest and brothers-in-law, Robert Welc and wife Maryann of Scottdale and Jack Kaputa of Mt. Pleasant; also many great nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Edward S. "Abe" Welc in 1994 and siblings, Joseph (Teabury) Witek and Joann Kaputa. Family and friends are invited from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant 724-547-2122 where a blessing service will be held at 12:30PM Friday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1PM in the St. Pius X Church, Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Transfiguration Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held at 3:30 PM and the Transfiguration Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 6PM Thursday in the funeral home.
