Alice Naomi Jones 99 of Hunker passed away Wednesday December 11, 2013 at the Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. Alice was born January 17, 1914 in Youngwood the daughter of the late James and Laura Peck Clawson. Alice was a member of the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Hunker, was employed in housekeeping for over 30 years at Howard Johnson's, New Stanton and was the last member of her immediate family. Surviving are her children, James Jones of Houston, TX, Thomas Jones of Gaithersburg, MD and Brenda Overly and fiance Michael Whitty of Hunker; grandchildren,Robert Jones, Stephen Overly and fiance Heather Cunningham, Adam Overly and wife Alicia, Philip Jones and wife Christa, Susan Jones and fiance Justin Marshall, Karen Sassone and fiance Dave Wilson and Norma Mascia and husband Tony; great grandchildren, Kyle and Allison Jones, Justin Mascia, Amber Kline, Angela Sassone and Brooks Overly; great great grandchildren, Alyssa Sassone, Ashley and Autumn Kline; also numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Jones in 1972; children, Lee Conner and Blanche Poorbaugh; brothers and sisters, Roy, Kenneth and Cecil Clawson and Marie Stevens and Blanche Ralph. The family is inviting friends to a memorial service to celebrate the life of Alice on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11AM in the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 407 Constitution Avenue, Hunker, PA 15639.
