Anthony "Rocco" Santore 89 of Mount Pleasant died September 6, 2021 surrounded by his family.

He was born August 15, 1932 in Mount Pleasant, a son of the late John and Mary A (Spinella) Santore. He was a 1950 graduate of Ramsay High School and Robert Morris College. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955, attaining the rank of Cpl and receiving the Good Conduct and National Defense Medals. He was retired from the Department of Public Welfare in Greensburg.

Rocco enjoyed many weekends with his family at his camp in Manns Choice Pa and after his retirement spent most of the summer enjoying camp with his wife Jackie. He loved sitting by the campfire listening to Pirate games and drinking wine. He spent many mornings at Shawnee State Park fishing in his boat on the lake. He also enjoyed gardening and canning. He was well known for his garlic and hot peppers. He enjoyed playing pinochle every Thursday night with his good friends at the Assunta Club, where he was a member for many years.

In addition to his parents, Rocco was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Jacqueline Mae (Seighman) Santore on February 21, 2006, a brother James Santore and three sisters Rosemary Santore, Lucille Desantis and Joanne Horansky. He is survived by three daughters Susan Kraus and husband Tim of Acme, Mary Jo Bellush and husband Dave of Mount Pleasant, Joni Dewhirst and husband Tom of Mount Pleasant, one son Anthony R. Santore, Jr. of Mount Pleasant and five grandchildren; David and Zachary Bellush, Heather Kraus, Jessica Jacob and husband, Jeff, and Matt Dewhirst. He was also blessed to have many nieces and nephews who were very dear to him. Rocco was blessed to enjoy retirement for many years in good health. Prior to his illness, he never complained, never had a headache and always said "If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all." He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank Excela Health Home Care and Hospice for the wonderful care they gave him and special thanks to Jenna and Dee for their kindness and compassion as they helped the family care for him at home. All were a blessing to Rocco and his family.
