Betty J. Semarge

Betty J. (Potoka) Semarge 85 of Mt. Pleasant (Old Bethany) passed away peacefully, Sunday July 23, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at Hempfield Manor, Greensburg.

She was born December 11, 1931 in Mt. Pleasant the daughter of the late Steve and Emma Potoka. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Semarge, Sr. and sons Roger Lee and Ronald Semarge and ten siblings, Charles Potoka Sr., Vincent Potoka Sr., Steve Potoka, Jr, Donald Potoka Sr., Richard Potoka Sr., Eleanor Kelly, Geraldine Layman, Nancy Potoka, Dolores Sanners and Charlotte Forsythe.

Our mother was a housewife, a great cook, and a member of the Visitation Catholic Church. She enjoyed being an active member of the East Huntingdon Ladies Auxiliary for 30 years and being an avid bingo player and spending time with her grandchildren and dog Lacy.

Betty was cherished by her children, Richard Semarge and wife Debbie of FL, Randy Semarge of Scottdale, Dennis Semarge of Wyano, Roxanne Semarge of Mt. Pleasant, Rhonda Patricio and husband Allan of Ruffsdale; sister, Joanne Lytle of Tarrs, Pa; grandchildren, Richie, Tina Ankney and husband Rich, Ronald SemargeJr. and wife Ashley, Jessie Semarge, Alex Patricio and girlfriend, Amber, Ryan and Renee Patricio; six great grandchildren, also numerous nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Joseph and Patty Semarge of Hunker.

Betty's family would like to thank everyone who helped with her care, especially the doctors and staff at Hempfield Manor where she felt at home and made many friends.

Family and friends are invited from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM Wednesday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant where a blessing service will be held at 2:30PM Thursday with Rev. Richard J. Kosisko officiating. Interment will follow in the Visitation Cemetery.
