Billy Dean Pfoutz 82 of Hillsborough, NJ formerly Tarrs, PA passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Sommerville Medical Center, Sommerville, NJ. Billy was a former member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, Tarrs, a graduate of East Huntingdon High School and Muskingham College, earning a degree in chemical engineering. He was a retired chemical engineer for the Foster Wheeler Corp., where he held seven US Patents for various chemical designs. Billy was a Korean war veteran serving as a 1st Lieutenant with the Navy earning a National Defense Medal, he also held memberships of various American Legion posts including American Legion Post 446 of Mt. Pleasant, PA. Surviving are his wife, Ann M. Baker Pfoutz; sons, David A. Pfoutz and wife Sharon of Manville, NJ and Dean W. Pfoutz and wife Sandra of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren, Jonathan Pfoutz and wife Tasha, Stefanie, Jason and Heather Pfoutz. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by brothers, John Robert and Daniel Ruff Pfoutz and sisters, Grace June Springer and Virginia Wray Pfoutz. The family is inviting friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Thursday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant (724-547-2122) where services will be held at 11AM Friday with Rev. Ralph Mostoller officiating. Interment with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post 446, Mt. Pleasant will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Tarrs.
