Birdie Richter, 87, of Scottdale, passed away peacefully at home on January 3rd, 2020, surrounded by her daughters, Carrie, Kate, and Bea. She was born on October 7, 1932, the daughter of the late Effie and George Sanner.
Birdie held several jobs during her lifetime, including working at the Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg. For the majority of her life, she was a homemaker for her children and many other children in the neighborhood. Everyone loved "Birdie's house." She was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Richter, her son, Harry Joe Sanner; her brothers Benjamin, Wornie, Harry,Theodore, and George Sanner; By her sisters, Elsie and Mable Sanner, Hattie Horvath, and Della Worzinski.
Birdie is survived by her daughters Carrie Campbell of Mt. Pleasant, Kathy Harris (Wayne), of Scottdale, Beatrice Washington ( Ken) of Connellsville , and Velma, and Kenny. Also surviving are her loving grandchildren, Bobby, Nicole, and Nicholas Stillwagon, and Wayne Richter. Family and friends will be received from 5-8 pm Monday at SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE, 730 West Main Street, Mount Pleasant where services will be held at 10:30am TuesdayService with Pastor Lee Maley officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Springfield Twp. The family wishes to give special thanks to Home Hospice Care, especially to nurses Kathy, Mckayla, and Phyllis.
