Carmelita (Carmen) Maria Irwing

Carmelita Maria Irwing (Carmen), 67 of Bear Rocks, Acme, passed away Saturday July 3, 2021 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital following a battle with cancer. Born in Mount Pleasant on January 20, 1954, she was a 1971 graduate of MPHS. She was a US Navy veteran who served for 8 years, with stations in Japan and Portugal where she was awarded the Joint Service Achievement Medal. Following her service she resided in England before moving back to the US to live. Carmen was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary Kathryn Moore and John J DiMichele and her step-father Paul T Moore. She is survived by husband Stephen L. Irwing, a sister Sherry and brother in law, Stanley Straight and nephews Craig and Jason Straight. Friends are invited to a celebration of life visitation from 4 to 6pm, Monday July 12, 2021 at SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant, PA. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Carmen may be made to the American Cancer Society 510 Pellis Road Suite 203 Greensburg, PA 15601.
