Carol A. Kunkle Grubic passed away at the Claremont Nursing Center, Carlisle PA on Friday, September 1, 2017. She was born September 21, 1944 at Belleview Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Robert H. and Jane M. Podobinski Houston Sharp. Carol attended Hopewell High School in Aliquippa, graduated from Ramsey High School, Mt. Pleasant in 1962, and was the owner of Carol's Craft Shop on Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale, PA from 1975-1978.
Surviving are her husband, John Grubic of Middletown; son, Mark W. Kunkle (Mary) of Winston-Salem, NC; granddaughter Allyson Kunkle of Salt Lake City, UT, grandson Jonathan Kunkle (Amber) of Greensboro, NC, great grandson, Hayden J. Kunkle; stepson, Monty Grubic (Peggy) of Etters, PA, stepdaughters, Michelle Vandever (Mark) of O'Fallon, IL, Monique Nagle (Mike) of Dillsburg, PA and Marcy Thompson (Josh) of Hummelstown, PA; step grandsons. Zachary, Pierce Nagel and Jonathan Vandever; step granddaughter, Kristin Vandever; and a sister, Roberta Hogan (Ed) of Frostproof, FL. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter J. Kunkle.
Family and friends are invited from 12 to 1PM on Saturday, September 9, 2017 to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mt. Pleasant where a service in Carol's memory will begin at 1PM with her nephew, Rev. Dennis Moriarty, officiating. Private interment will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Twp. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National Alzheimer's Association in Carol's memory.
