Charles A. Fisher

Charles A. Fisher, 78, of Hunker passed away Saturday February 27, 2016 at his home due to Parkinson's Disease which he battled for several years prior to his death. Charles was born November 14, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant the son of the late Charles E. and Ruth Gerhart Fisher. Charles was a member of St. John's Union Church, Mt. Pleasant, serving on the consistory and cemetery boards prior to his illness, a member of the Dairy Farmers of America and a former school bus driver for the Mt. Pleasant Area School District. Charles was a dairy farmer on the family farm along side his father and his wife, who was always by his side helping him through thick and thin. It was hard work but a life that he loved. As his illness progressed, he bravely endured all the struggles and difficulties that each day presented and now is enjoying the peace and comfort of heaven. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a good friend to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, his wife of 45 years Glendell Ritenour Fisher, daughters, Julie Lewandowski and husband John, Charlene Miller and husband Chad all of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Jared Lewandowski, Cole and Caden Miller. A sister Sara Ann Hancock and husband Ray of Hunker and numerous nieces and nephews and faithful companion, Otis. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a sister Jane Fisher. The family is inviting friends from 2 to 8 PM Tuesday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant 724-547-2122 and from 10 to 11AM at the St John Union Church 170 Hecla Road Mt. Pleasant where services will be held at 11AM Wednesday with Rev. David Hixson and Rev. Josh Tamblyn co-officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Union Cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and support during this difficult time.
