Charles N. Perkey 91 of Mount Pleasant (East Huntingdon Twp.) passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. Charles was born September 14, 1922 in Ligonier the son of the late Harry and Sadie McIlveen Perkey. Charles was retired from US Steel Corp. and the owner of Perkey Farms, established in 1935 raising dairy cattle and Belgium horses. Charles was a member of the Laurel Highlands Horse Pullers and loved to attend the local County Fairs. Surviving are his children, Mary Gault and husband James of Monessen, Eva Mae Younkin and husband Rick, Jessie Perkey and Charles Perkey and wife Kathy, Scott Perky and wife Kim all of Mount Pleasant and John Perkey and wife Deanna of Tarrs; also 13 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Snyder Perkey and his brothers and sisters. The family is inviting friends to Charles' service at 10AM Tuesday at the SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant (624-547-2122) with Rev. Ralph Mostoller officiating. A private interment will follow in the Green Ridge Memorial Park, Bullskin Twp.
