Clarence E. (Skinny) Oakes

June 17, 1926 — November 20, 2018

Clarence E. Oakes (Skinny), age 92 of Farmville VA, formerly of Latrobe went home to be with our Lord on November 20, 2018.  He was born June 17, 1926 in Crucible, a son of the late Hazel Oakes.  Clarence served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Langley and USS Bremerton.   He was a member of Latrobe United Methodist Church and the American Legion.  He was proceeded in death by his wife of 59 years, Agnes Oakes, and an infant daughter, as well as his sisters: Corinne Stewart, Florance Johnson and Audrey Sever.  Skinny leaves behind, one son, Lee Oakes of Farmville and one Grandson, Lee Oakes Jr., a great granddaughter, Candice Oakes and his only surviving sibling, Beatrice Crawford of Uniontown PA.  Family and Friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Clarence on Thursday Dec. 6, 2018 at 11am in the chapel of Westmoreland County Memorial Park Greensburg.  Everyone please meet at the cemetery.  Interment with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 446 Mt.
