Clyde K. Mathias, 90, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on January 14, 2013 at the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Pittsburgh, Greensburg. Clyde was born on May 31, 1922 in Mount Pleasant the son of the late George and Katherine Collbaugh Mathias. Clyde was a 1940 graduate of Hurst High School, a WWII Army Veteran; a member of VFW Post 3368, Mount Pleasant, the Westmoreland Multi-Service Center, Mount Pleasant, the Mount Pleasant Church of God and was formerly employed as a Glass Finisher for Bryce Brothers Glass then Lenox Crystal, retiring in 1986. Clyde was the last member of his family, in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Butler Mathias in 2007; a son Robert Kenneth Mathias in 2006; brothers George W. Mathias, Jr., Lawrence R. Mathias; sisters Irene Mertz, Lillian Willard and infant sister Irma Mathias. Friends are invited from 9:30-10:30 AM Friday to the SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE, INC. 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant (724-547-2122) where services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday with Pastor Brad Adams officiating.
