Devon James Ray

Devon J. Ray, 27 of Scottdale passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Devon was born August 30, 1996 the son of Jeffrey McNair of Scottdale and Melinda Banta (fiancée Richard Gmys) of Monroeville, stepmother Kathy Knopp (Jim) of Irwin. He was a 2015 graduate of Southmoreland High School.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by his girlfriend Lauren Galante; brothers, David Burton of TN, Isaiah Banta (fiancée Lisa Flowers) of Greensburg, Thomas Everett (Amanda) of Blairsville, Jesse Geyer (Ace Jones) of Pittsburgh; sisters, Elizabeth Ray Plows (Justin) and Rebecca Banta all of Greensburg, Shawna Everett (Kevin Brinker) of West Newton, Deanna Morris (Chris) of Irwin; nieces, Ashlynn Victor, Nevaeh and Sophia Jenkins and nephews, Brandon Ray and Gaige Jenkins. Paternal grandparents, Larry and Clara McNair of Scottdale and maternal grandparents, Kathleen Duffey and Thomas Freeman of Greensburg, uncles, Larry McNair and Keith McNair of Scottdale, Scott Bean of Murrysville and Heath Freeman of Latrobe and Aunts, Stacey Raygor and Anita Wallace (Bob), both of Greensburg, Betty Rudolchick (Michael) of Mt. Peasant, Crystal Freeman of Greensburg, and Virginia Hemminger (Todd) of Mt. Peasant; also Brittany Carnes of Mt. Pleasant, Steve Vargo and numerous other cousins. A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday September 16th from 4pm – 8pm at Everson Firehall, 114 Jones Street, Everson PA 15631.
