Donald S. Stoner 84 of New Stanton Passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Harmon House, Mount Pleasant. Donald was born June 9, 1930 in Pleasant Unity the son of the late Burgess and Bess Mathias Stoner. He was a Marine Corps veteran where,during his enlistment, became a golden glove boxer. As a member of the Full Gospel Church and Alpha Ministries in Greensburg, Don lead Gospel for Alpha Ministries and sang at various nursing homes and churches. Surviving are his children, Kim Hawk and husband Jim of South Connellsville, Donald Stoner and wife Renea of Greensburg and Erin Stoner of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters, Marlene Stoner and Bob of Bullskin Twp, Nancy Yanovich of Scottdale and Winnie Cooke of FL; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Kooser, brothers-in-law, Wendell Kooser and James Cooke and nieces, Wendy Sue Kooser and Denice Shively Andrews. The family is inviting friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Monday to the SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant where services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday with Pastor James Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
