Dorothy "Dee" M. Spoonhoward Black 80 of Smock formerly of Mt. Pleasant went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday April 15, 2015. Dorothy was born December 25, 1934 in Herminie the daughter of the late Iden and Keziah Geckle Spoonhoward. Dee was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant, she attended Sewickley High School, enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and reading. Dee was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and adored all of her family. Dee had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Surviving are her children, Lonnie B. Black and wife Joanie of Mt. Pleasant, Lee B. Black and fiancé Amy Migyanha of Latrobe, Peggy Jean Sanner of Youngwood, Judy Lynn Swank and husband Ken Sr. of Mt. Pleasant, Kathy Lynn (Kate) Eutsey and husband Dan of Ruffsdale and Lorrie Lynn (Hunky) Black and fiance Duane Theodori of Smock with whom Dee resided; grandchildren, Ken Swank Jr. and wife Lori, Kelly Swank, Jonathon Black and wife Heather, Gregory Basinger, Jr. and friend Brad Litzinger, Lonnie H. Black, Scott Swank and Brian Black; great grandchildren, Abigail, Jonathon, Jacob, Cayton and Jeremiah, a cousin Richard Kennell of Madison, a wonderful friend, Rosey Long of Connellsville and her loving dog Cooper. In addition to her parents, Dee was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Black; loving daughter, Karren Sue Black on March 26, 1973, a son-in-law Wayne Sanner, a loving aunt, LaRue Kennell of Madison and a cousin Clifford Kennell of Whyles. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Grane Hospice for their kind and considerate care of Dee during her illness. Private funeral services will be held at 10AM Saturday at the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Tim Auer officiating.
