Edward J. Hogan, 82 of Frostproof, Fla., formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at the Winter Haven Hospital, Florida. Edward was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of the late John and Lois Dunn Hogan. Ed was a 1953 graduate of Ramsay High School and was employed by Bryce Brothers Glass and Lenox Crystal, Mt. Pleasant, retiring after 43 years of service. He was a former member of the Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department and Medic 10, being one of the 10 original founding members of Medic 10. Surviving are his wife, Roberta Houston Hogan; a daughter, Darlene Madsen (Vincent), of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Christy Bell (James), of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter, Sara Madsen, of Coral Gables, Fla.; stepgrandchildren, Ryan King, of Scottdale, Eric and Adam Bell, of Mt. Pleasant; stepgreat-granddaughter, Ava King; a sister, Betty Galley, of Scottdale; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, where services will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dennis Moriarty officiating. Private entombment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Bullskin Township.
