Elmer J. Leechalk, Jr.

Elmer J. "Sonny" Leechalk, 66 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away unexpectedly with his brothers by his side on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Excela Health Frick Hospital. Sonny was born April 27, 1956 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Elmer J. Leechalk, Sr. and Julie Mizikar Leechalk.  Sonny was a member of St. Florian Church, United and a 1974 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School.  He was a member of the United Club holding various  positions including, trustee and former vice president. He also participated in the United Golf League and was a social member of the Norvelt and Kecksburg Fireman's and Lloydsville Sportsman, and enjoyed hunting. Surviving are his sister, Janice Leechalk of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, brothers, Jack Leechalk (Teri) of Latrobe and Gregory Leechalk (Amber) of Acme; nieces and nephews, Brandon Leechalk (Holly), Brooke Begonia (Brad), Caleb and Emma Leechalk; great nephews and nieces, Timmy, Cameron, Maverick, Blakely and Blaire; also numerous aunts and uncles.  Visitation for family and friends will be held form 4 to 8pm Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. MAIN STREET MT. PLEASANT.  A memorial mass will be held at 10:00am, Friday, June 3, 2022 at St. Florian Church, 4263 Route 981 United, PA with Rev. John Sedlak as celebrant.(EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH).
