Florence F. Seighman Swartz

Florence F.(Kastner) Seighman Swartz, 97 of Mt. Pleasant passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at Harmon House Mt. Pleasant. Florence was born October 17, 1916 in Hammondville the daughter of the late George and Grace Kriegar Kastner, and widow of the late Charles Arthur Seighman and the late William Swartz. Florence was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School, class of 1934 and was an employee of the F.W. Woolworth Company and as the manager of the Famous Department Store. Florence was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church and in her younger years, served as church treasurer, president of the Missionary Society and was a Sunday school teacher. Because she had an excellent voice, she often sang at various church events, weddings and funerals. Surviving are her son, George A. Seighman and daughter-in-law, Ruth Swartz Seighman of Harrisburg; a sister, Jean Allison Cloman of Levitttown; a brother-in-law, Rocco Santore, Sr. of Mount Pleasant and sisters-in-law, Ida Bowman Kastner of North Canton, OH and Wilma Seighman Nini of Morriville, PA; also numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, Florence was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Rist and husband LaRue Rist and brothers, Arnold Kastner and wife Grace Showman Kastner and Ira Kastner. The family would like to thank the staff at Amber House and Harmon House, Mt. Pleasant for their kindness, care and compassion shown to Florence during the past few years. The family is inviting friends from 11AM to 12Noon Thursday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant (724-547-2122) where services will be held at 12Noon Thursday with the Rev. Tim Auer officiating, Interment will follow in the Pennsville Independent Cemetery.
