Frank Edward Overly, Sr., 86, of Connellsville formerly of Hunker, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at his home. Born July 6, 1930, in Hempfield Twp., he was the son of the late John R. and Edna Bednar Overly. Frank was a member of the former Big Swickley Baptist Church, Hunker, attended the New Stanton School and was employed by USX Edgar Thompson retiring after 32 years. He was also a self employed backhoe contractor for Pete Colosimo and many others and would help local farmers and his neighbors whenever they called. His memories will be cherished, as he was always a very giving man to his family and friends. Frank is survived by his five sons; Frank E. Overly Jr. and wife, Anna of Connellsville, with whom he resided, Ronald Overly of Spokane, WA, James A. Overly, Robert L. Overly and wife, Candi, of Champion, and Jack M. Overly of Everson; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Jim, Bill and John Overly and sisters, Lidie Ann and Merdel. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jane Colbert Overly on February 25, 2002; a great granddaughter, Felicia Renee Bradish, brothers, Harry, Danny and Gene overly and sisters, Edna, Helen, Mary and an infant sister, Alice Marie. The family wishes to thank Senior Life for all their help and services that they provided to Frank and his family. Family and friends are invited from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM Monday, January 2, 2017 to SALOOM_REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 West Main Street Mt. Pleasant where services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, January 3, 2017 with Rev. Joseph Wingrove, officiating. Interment will follow in Madison Union Cemetery.
