Frank Zabrosky

Frank A. Zabrosky, 91, of Mt Pleasant passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025. Frank was born on August 23, 1933 in Mt Pleasant. He is the son of the late Frank J. and Joanna (Lubovinsky) Zabrosky. Frank was a member of the former Transfiguration RC Church Mt. Peasant and current member of St. Joseph RC Church, Everson, where he served on counsel for many years. He was a 1947 graduate of Transfiguration School, a 1951 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Township High School and the University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 1955 earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Magda Cum Laude. Frank received his Masters Degree in Library Science from the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1956. He then enlisted in the United States Army Signal Corps serving during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge, Frank returned to the University of Pittsburgh where he eventually became Head of Archives at the Hillman Library. Upon retirement from the University of Pittsburgh Oakland Campus Frank volunteered for many years at the Milstein Library at the University of Pittsburgh Greensburg campus. He is survived by Michele (Fred, deceased)Mitchell and Terri (Richard) Griffith both of Mt. Pleasant. Frank is also survived by his two special cousins who he cherished very much, Alexander "A.J.” and Matthew Mitchell. In addition he is survived by one aunt and numerous cousins. Frank was preceded in death by his aunt Mary Ann (Jim) Schmitz, who he considered his sister. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 8 pm on Tuesday at SLATER-REGA FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC 730 W. Main Street Mt Pleasant where parting prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m.Wednesday followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St Pius X Catholic Church Mt. Pleasant.
