Gloria Retta Sickenberger Wilson, 92, of Mt. Pleasant PA, was called home to her Lord, on March 18, 2025. She was born on June 24, 1932, daughter of the late William S. Sickenberger and Mary Ruth Myers Sickenberger.
After graduating salutatorian from Hurst High School, she later married Paul Wilson on November 24, 1950, and they shared each other’s lives for 48 years. Over the years, she was a member of Armbrust Wesleyan Church, Youngwood Presbyterian Church, and Middle Presbyterian Church taking an active part in each of the churches’ life.
Gloria was the co-owner and proprietor of P&G Ceramics for many years. She was an avid book reader throughout her life. She later developed a love and avocation for genealogy through being an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Braddock Trail Chapter and a researcher at the Baltzer Meyer Historical Society of Greensburg, where she helped others find their ancestry. She also was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Library and Scottdale Library Genealogy Groups sharing her love of research. She served on the AFS Student Exchange Committee, Mt. Pleasant during the 70s helping to set up homes for foreign exchange students from Africa and Asia. She was also a member of the Junior Order of the United American Mechanics, becoming one of the first female membersof the Lodge.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Laurie Koronowski of Alexandria VA, grandsons, Luke Alcorn of Jacksonville FL, Jeremey Alcorn and wife Adriana Alcorn of Alexandria VA, and two great-grandchildren, Emma Alcorn and Ronan Alcorn.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on April 12, 2025, at the Middle Presbyterian Cemetery Mausoleum on Route 981 Mt Pleasant, everyone please meet at the cemetery mausoleum.
