Guy Diana 93, of New Stanton passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Transitions Life Health Care, Irwin. Guy was born March 31, 1921 in New Castle, PA the son of the late Andrew and Mary Marrone Diana. Guy was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, Tarrs and served 3 years in the Army Air Force during WWII flying in over 60 combat missions with the 487th Bomb Squadron and the 340th Bomb Group in the European Theatre of Operation. Upon being honorably discharged from the Army Air Force, Guy continued his education at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and worked several years in the funeral industry with the Ralph Schugar Funeral Home in Pittsburgh. Later in life he made a career change and was employed in finance for thirty-five years retiring as Senior Vice President of the former MNC Consumer Discount Company, an affiliate of Maryland National Bank, Surviving are his children, Ronald Butler of Ruffsdale and Pastor Gregory Butler and wife Kathy of Tarrs; grandchildren, Kelly Sue Ferris and husband Sean and Samantha Garsteck and husband Rich; great granddaughter, Allison Jean Garsteck; brothers, James Diana and wife Shirley of Level Green and Kenneth Diana and wife Joann of Richmond, VA; sisters, Marie Scandinaro and husband Sam of Swissville and Ann Moskal of Wilkins Twp.; also nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Guy was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine "Gerri" Leasure Diana , Dec 10, 2014, sisters, Rose Frisina, Mae Stock and Katie Stotlemyer and brothers, Anthony and Joseph Diana. The family is inviting friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. MAIN STREET MOUNT PLEASANT 724-547-2122 where services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday with Pastor Gregory Butler officiating. Entombment will follow in the Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
