Harry Clair (Jack) Miller

Harry Clair (Jack) Miller 89 of Hunker passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Excela Health, Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Harry was born November 7, 1925 in Donegal Twp. the son of the late Jay L. and Celestia Overly Miller. Harry was a 1943 graduate of Ramsay High School and was a retired postal worker and independent electrical contractor. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, served on the Hempfield Area School Board and School Building Authority for more than twenty years and attended the New Stanton United Methodist Church. Harry enjoyed retirement, traveling, camping, hiking, biking and working outdoors. He was very hard working, faithful and dedicated to loving God and his family. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Jean Craig Miller and the seven B's, Beverly Kloshen of Plum, Barbara Baker (Donald) of Mt. Pleasant, Bonnie Nicodemus of Stahlstown, Betty Yezek (Barry) of Mt. Pleasant, Brenda Dececco (Thomas) and Bobbie Santavy (David) both of Greensburg and Barry Miller of Mt. Pleasant; 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and his longtime close family friend, John (Goldie) Goldsworthy. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Yezek and sons-in-law, Harry Kloshen and Robert Nicodemus and a sister Virginia Reifschneider. Following Harry's request, his donation to the University of Pittsburgh Medical School for research through the Humanity Gifts Registry will be honored. Friends will be received from 3 to 4 PM Saturday at the New Stanton United Methodist Church 612 Center Avenue, New Stanton, PA 15639 where a memorial service will be held at 4PM with Pastor Bonnie King officiating.
