James C. Sterner, 61 of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday March 16, 2017 at his home with his loving wife and family beside him.
Jim was born September 12, 1955 in Greensburg the son of the late Melvin and Irene Sterner. Jim was a graduate of Yough High School, an Air Force veteran, was formerly employed as a coal miner at the Banning mine and recently employed as a lineman for Verizon. He was a member of American Legion Post 446 and Slovak Club, Mt. Pleasant.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Tedrow Sterner; children, Jason VanArsdale and Keely Alcorn (Joe Brosh) of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Kiley VanArsdale (Tim),
Nicole Alcorn (Larry), Chad Alcorn and Jake VanArsdale; great grandchildren, Ella and Tim Scott; his biological mother, Pat Harper of CA; brothers, Andy Sterner (Jo) of NC, Ron Ganczak (Candice) and Randy Ganczak (Patty); sisters, Renee Favella (Tony) and Rochelle Duncan all of CA. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Hauseman and a brother, Rick Ganczak.
The family is inviting family and friends from 3 to 6PM Sunday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mt. Pleasant where services will be held at 6PM with Rev.Ron Ingelido officiating.
