John H. "Johnny" Hay

December 14, 1931 — March 1, 2016

John H. "Johnny" Hay 84 of Mount Pleasant went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving wife and family on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. John was born December 14, 1931 in Somerset Twp., PA a son of the late Orlo and Esther Mort Hay. John was employed by Green Valley Packing, Claysville as a truck driver retiring in 1993. He played baseball for Beulah in the Mountain League Baseball League, winning the championship in 1950 and was a avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Shirley Ulery Hay who he married on July 5, 1951; sons Randy Hay and wife Nancy of Somerset and Robee Hay and wife Rosemary of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Jennifer Boland and husband Josh, Robee Hay and wife Michelle, Christy Fetterman and husband Roy and Derick Hay and wife Arianna; great grandchildren, Katie, Trevor, Taylor, Bethany and Teegan; brothers, Robert Hay of Johnstown, Richard Hay and wife Joyce of Berlin, Ralph Hay and wife Janet of Rockwood, Charles Hay and wife Gloria of Berlin and Betty Setinsek and husband Augie of N. Lima, OH. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by brothers William, Jay, Orlo Jr. and James and sisters, Dorothy Auriemma and Mary Schlag. The family would like to express a special thank you to John's caregivers, Angel and Nicole. The family is inviting friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM Friday and 12-1 PM Saturday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mt. Pleasant 724-547-2122 where services will be held at 1PM Saturday with Rev. Charles Hay officiating. Private interment will follow in the Green Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of John may be made to Amedisys Hospice Care 109 Crossroads Road Suite 400 Scottdale, PA 15683.
