Joseph R. Hegedus

Joseph R. Hegedus, Jr.73, God took his hand to be with the Lord on February 17, 2017. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Joe was born April 16, 1943 in Greensburg, the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Ginter Hegedus, Sr. He was a member of the Former Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, attended South Huntingdon High School and was formerly employed by Raimondo Construction retiring after 42 years. After retirement Joe and Cindy loved to travel, enjoying their trips around the country by car and especially the trips to California. Suviving are his wife Cynthia Ann Kubiak Hegedus; children, Joseph R. Hegedus, III of Mt. Pleasant, Sherry Lyn Sturdevant and husband Kurt of Uniontown and Lisa Marie Wilson and husband John of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Rachael Wilson, Cheyanne Hegedus, Ava Sturdevant and John Wilson; sisters, Mary Ann Bulna of Mt. Pleasant and Kathy Vaglia of Ruffsdale. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a sister Joann Koontz. The family is inviting friends from 2 to 8 PM Sunday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mt. Pleasant where a blessing service will be held at 9:30AM Monday followed by a Mass of Christian burial in Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant.
