Judith Ann Gaal Zelmore, 74, of Mt. Pleasant Twp., passed away on Wednesday morning, September 14, 2016, right where she wanted to be, in her home with her loving husband by her side. She was born on July 14, 1942 a daughter of the late Nelson Gaal and Louise Eckman Livengood. A 1960 graduate of Scottdale High School, she was a hard worker, raising four ornery boys while working tirelessly on her family farm. Known as the "Corn Lady", she sold sweet corn for 35 years at the former Diamond Auto Parts in Mt. Pleasant, and was a member of the Armbrust Wesleyan Church in Hunker. Judy fought many battles with her health over the past 21 years, but never gave up. Despite all of her health issues, she always put her family first. Her husband of 53 years, Marlin Fred Zelmore, Sr., whom she married on November 23, 1962 survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are her four sons, Marlin F. Zelmore, Jr., Gerald Lee Zelmore, Brian R. Zelmore and wife Denice, and Lance W. Zelmore; her six beloved grandchildren Jynell, Giana, Chloe, Courtney, Tiffany, and Colton; a sister Mary Lou Demnovich; two brothers Dennis Gaal and wife Patty, and Gerald Gaal and wife Terri; and several nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her dogs, Touser and Dakota, who were constantly by her side. Friends will be received from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday in the SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE, 730 West Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, with her Pastor Tim Stradling officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Due to her love of animals, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Westmoreland County, PO Box 1552, Greensburg, PA 15601.
