Kathleen H. Cowan 96 of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday November 5, 2016 at Excela Health-Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Kathleen was born June 16, 1920 in Connellsville the daughter of the late John and Margaret Popple Smith. Kathleen was a member of the Alverton United Methodist Church and Sunday School, a 1938 Graduate of Connellsville High School, and a member of the Rollettes Bowling League, Mt. Pleasant. She was formerly employed in the cafeteria department of the Southmoreland School District and also an experienced seamstress, tailoring and creating numerous clothes and wedding dresses in the area. Surviving are her children, Harrold Scott Cowan (Penney) of Rocklin, CA, Richard Cowan (Patricia) of Scottdale, David Cowan (Lorry) of Cranberry Twp., and Kathy Barrick (Dennis) of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Kimberly Galia, Scott Cowan, Michael Cowan, Jason Cowan, David Cowan, Christina Cowan, Christopher Barrick and Alexander Barrick., also 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Paris of Austin, TX, Gloria Jean Porter of Connellsville and Maxine Resh of Ligonier and brother, William Smith of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband Harrold Cowan in March, 1998; sisters, Grace Danton, Connie Lepre and Mamie Dahl. Friends are invited from 2 to 8PM Friday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mt. Pleasant where services will be held at 10:30AM Saturday with Rev. Thomas Shirer officiating.
