Kathleen A. Sottile, 62, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at her home from natural causes attributed to the multiple sclerosis that was diagnosed in 1989. Kathleen was born on June 10, 1950 in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of the late Steve and Frances (Greer) Osif. Kathleen was a 1968 graduate of Mount Pleasant Area High School and a member of St. Pius X Church, Mt. Pleasant. She was formerly employed as a Registration Clerk for Frick Community Hospital, a member of the Western Pennsylvania Multiple Sclerosis Society, a lifelong lover of cats, the Beatles, President John F. Kennedy,sweets and an avid reader of Nora Roberts novels. Kathleen was a very happy and easy going person that everyone loved, her motto was " You can either laugh or cry about things, I choose to laugh". Surviving is her beloved husband, Joseph Sottile, loving children, Jason Sottile and wife Kelly Jean of New Stanton and Kelly Jo Sottile of Greentree; a grandson, Jaxon Paul Sottile; a brother Terry Osif of Brinkerton; also brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Excela Health and her caretakers, Nicole Ulery and Debbie Garufi for the kind care during Kathleen's illness. Friends are welcome from 2-4 & 6-8PM Friday to the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL SERVICE, INC 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant (724-547-2122) where a blessing will be held at 9:30AM Saturday followed by Kathleen's funeral mass at 10AM in the St. Pius X Church Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Pius X Cemetery. A parish wake service will be held Friday at 3PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 1501 Reedsdale, Street, Suite 105, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
