Kazimiera Ligendza, 90, of San Antonio, TX, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Horizon Bay Assisted Living, San Antonio, TX. Kazia was born June 13, 1925 in Poland, the daughter of the late Josef and Gertrude Nowak Malek. Kazia was a member of the former Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant and was formerly employed by Krystyniak's Red and White Grocery Store, Mt. Pleasant. Upon her retirement, she relocated to San Antonio, TX to be closer to her son Edward Ligendza and wife Brenda of Helotes, TX. In addition to her son, Kazia is survived by grandchildren, Alan Reeder and wife Ivonne and Hannah Sowell and husband Randy and four great grandchildren, Tony and Malena Reeder and Joshua and Hailey Sowell. Kazia was preceded in death by her husband, Stefan Ligendza in 1960 and her daughter, Lola Ligendza in 2004. Friends are invited to Kazia's graveside service at 11:30 AM Monday, March 28, 2016 in Transfiguration Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Richard J. Kosisko officiating.
