Dr. Larry Walton Thomas 76, of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully at Eicher Family Care, Normalville on Saturday, December 30, 2017. He was born October 18, 1941 in Mt. Pleasant the son of the late George E. and Edna B. Stiltenpole Thomas. Larry graduated from Ramsay High School in 1959 and attended the Palmer College of Chiropractic, graduating in June of 1965. He opened his chiropractic office in Connellsville in 1968, retiring in 2011 after 43 years in practice. Larry loved his farm, taking care of his tractors and other farm machinery and his animals. He enjoyed deer hunting and small game hunting with his beagle dogs. In his youth he worked at Burns Drug Store, Mt. Pleasant. He married the former Karen S. Gaskill on June 22, 1963 and had two sons, Randy Thomas and wife Kimberly and David Thomas and wife Kathy; four grandchildren, Rebecca and fiance' Bob, Garrett and friend, Sara, Tyler and fiance' Bria and Shayna and friend, Zack; a step-grandchild, Jamie Caletri and step-great granchild, Briella Nicholson. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Wanda in June of 1964. Larry is also survived by two brothers, H. Arlen Thomas and wife Nancy Cooper and Terry Thomas and wife Connie Yancosky; also many nieces and nephews, The family wishes to thank Eicher family Care and staff and Amedysis Hospice Care for their love and care given to Larry during his stay. Friends are invited from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9PM Wednesday, January 3, 2018 to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mt. Pleasant where services will be held at 11AM Thursday, January 4, 2018 with Pastor Ty Smartnick officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
