Lois J. Hilland Cannon, 92 of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Walnut Ridge Memory Care Center Greensburg with her family by her side. Lois was born August 8, 1930 in Mt. Pleasant the daughter of the late Charles E, and Hazel V. Gunder Hilland. Lois was a member of the New Life Baptist Church, Dunbar and was a veteran of the Air Force. She was a 1948 graduate of Ramsay High School and formerly employed by Howard Johnson, New Stanton. Surviving are her children, Bonita Mae Shipley (Irvin, Jr) and Valarie Goodwin of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Erika Carnes, Irvin Shipley III, Heather Shipley, Matthew, Suzzanna (Goodwin) Miller and Kyle Goodwin; great grandchildren, Isabelle Kochis, Abigail Kochis, Isaak Kochis and Caleb Shipley and a brother William G. Hilland; also numerous nieces and nephews in PA and Missouri. In addition to his parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Cannon, a son Albert Dale Cannon; son-in-law, Matthew Goodwin, daughter in law Linda Cannon; sisters, Eldora Glowacki and Naomi Fay Moran and brothers, Charles L. Hilland, Clinton B. Hilland and Merle E Hilland. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8PM Wednesday at SLATER-REGA FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES INC 730 W. MAIN STREET MT. PLEASANT where services will be held at 11am Thursday with Rev. David Douthitt officiating. Interment with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Post 446, Mt.
