Lynn Ann Kuhn, born 8/22/1959 of Acme passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, February 22nd.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Edward M. Kuhn, Sr. and Evelyn D. (King) Kuhn of Mount Pleasant.
She is survived by her siblings, Edward M. Kuhn, Jr. (Jeff) of Greensburg, Lori Lee Kuhn of Mount Pleasant, David W. Kuhn (Barbara) of McMurray and nieces Synclaire Evelyn Kuhn and Karsyn Marie Kuhn of McMurray, and her best friend Laura Jennings of Jeannette.
Lynn spent 20+ years as an award-winning writer and editor for the Tribune Review, the Uniontown Herald Standard and the Daily Courier newspapers. She was a gifted writer and crafty layout editor, whose work always received the highest accolades for her work.
Additionally, Lynn spent many years working as an adjunct journalism, writing, and English professor at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and Johnstown campuses, Seton Hill University, and Westmoreland County Community College, where she shared her love of writing and journalism with thousands of students.
Lynn graduated with the highest honors from Mount Pleasant area high school in 1977 where she was an All-State point guard and led the lady Vikings basketball team to the WPIAL playoffs multiple times. She was a gifted athlete and later went on to compete collegiately at Washington and Jefferson College for the Lady Presidents.
At W&J, Lynn graduated with a degree in English and writing and also held a masters degree from Seton Hill University in creative writing.
Lynn had a dry sense of humor and a keen intellect. She loved reading, trivia, history, horticulture, traveling and spending time in the outdoors, hiking kayaking, and cross country skiing. She also had a great love and affection for her pets, most recently, her dog Tina and her cat Libby.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be sent to support the Mountain Watershed Association project at mtwatershed.com, a cause near and dear to Lynn‘s heart as she fervently believed in protecting her beloved Laurel Highlands in which she lived. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 to 4pm Saturday at SLATER-REGA FUNERAL CREMATION SERVICES INC. 730 W. Main Street Mt Pleasant.
