Mark “Moose” Kraisinger, 69 of Orchard Avenue, Mt Pleasant  passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at his home.  Mark was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Regina (Funk) Kraisinger and father, Frank Kraisinger and many aunts and uncles.   His uncle/mentor and good friend Howard Funk of Mt Pleasant introduced Mark to the Mount Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department which led to a lifelong love of the organization for Mark.  He started spending time with the firemen when he was a kid and immediately fell in love with the organization and its’ people. He attended  Fireman’s conventions with his uncle Howard and joined the department on November 18, 1975.  Serving the Mount Pleasant community through the volunteer fire department was Mark‘s biggest joy and pride, the department became his home, brothers and family.  Mark held many leadership positions within the Fireman's Association; he was chaplain for the Mount Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department and also chaplain for the Westmoreland County Fire Chief's Association. He was a delegate on local, county and state levels and held the position of lieutenant and captain in third ward hose company for many years. He was the assistant chief of MPVFD for 16 years and currently held the office of Chief.  Mark was formerly employed by LE Smith glass company in Mount Pleasant and currently by Speclin emergency vehicles in Scottdale.  Surviving are his Aunt Beatrice Funk of Mount Pleasant Pennsylvania, his Brother Frank Jr. Kraisinger of Scottdale and by his cousins Cyndi Funk of Murrysville PA, and by Jackie, Jody, & Ashley Mullens of Canonsburg Pennsylvania.   A few things we love to remember about Mark is that he was recognized after 9/11 as a hometown hero, he absolutely loved polkas,  listening to the them and dancing to them..  Mark’s face was a staple at the Mount Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department's fireman's fair that he looked forward to every June!, where he ran the famous pizza stand.  Mark will be dearly missed by his family and by his firemen brothers.  Visitation for family and friends will be held form 9am to 2pm Monday, May 1, 2023 at SLATER-REGA FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES 730 W.
