Mary Lou Biller Navalaney 88 of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017. Mary Lou was born May 11, 1928 in Calumet the daughter of the late Gilmer and Mary Wilseck Smith. She was a 1946 graduate of Hurst High School, was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant and was the former owner with her late husband John of the Buckhorn Inn, Central City. Mary Lou always had a great smile on her face, she enjoyed her family, friends and listening to her polkas on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and great Steeler fan.. She was especially known for her delicious nut and poppyseed rolls and enjoyed by many. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Hawse and husband Ed of Mt. Pleasant; a grandson Jason Hawse and wife Brooke of Uniontown; great grandchildren, Brady and Elijah Hawse; sister, Shirley Yohman of North Huntingdon, brothers, Richard Smith of Mt. Pleasant and Robert Smith and wife Linda of Sarasota, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, John Navalaney, a grandson Justin Hawse; sisters, Ruth Allshouse and Gwen Harenchar and a brother, Tom Smith. The family is extending an invitation to celebrate her life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM Monday at the SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mt. Pleasant where a blessing service will be held at 9:30am Tuesday followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10AM in St. Pius X Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be held Wednesday at 11AM in St. John Cantius Cemetery, Windber, PA. The family would like to thank Grane Hospice, especially aide Bridget and nurse Sharon for their kind and considerate care of Mary Lou.
