Mary Catherine Ross

Mary Catherine "Babe" Rusinko Ross, 90 of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday June 6, 2023 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital Greensburg.  She was born January 26, 1933 in Hecla, PA the daughter of the late John and Mary M. Platt Rusinko. Babe was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church and Holy Rosary Society of Trauger.  She also belonged to the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association Sr. Branch 44.  Babe graduated from Hurst High School in 1950 and  was retired from the former Stuart's Drug and Surgical Supply Company, Greensburg.  Babe was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, husband Joseph Ross, sisters, Bertha Zelenak, Elizabeth Mayernik and brother, John "Coco" Rusinko.  She is survived by her daughter, Denise Zozula and Husband John "Zip" Zozula of Mt Pleasant; grandchildren, Ryan Gradler and wife Nicole, Kaitlyn Moros and Fiancee, Jake Etling, Christopher Zozula and wife Camille and Bobby Zozula and partner Mike Shick; great grandchildren, Makenzie, Maddox, Micah, John, Theo, Finn,Marcus, Gracie and Jakob. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Harmon House, Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital ICU third floor nurses and Hospice Care for their kind care of Mary.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 7pm, Monday June 12, 2023 at SLATER-REGA FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC 730 W. MAIN STREET MT. PLEASANT where the funeral procession will begin at 9:30am for transfer to St. Mary-Holy Protection Byzantine Catholic Church , Trauger for the funeral liturgy at 10 am with Fr. Paul - Alexander Shutt O.S.B. officiating.
