Melvin W. Povlik 55 of Mount Pleasant passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Melvin was born March 3, 1959 in Mount Pleasant the son of the late Zigmont and Mabel McElroy Povlik. Prior to him becoming blind, Melvin loved to ride his motorcycle and fish with his special nephew, Frankie and wife Marcie and family. He spent most of his life with his special niece, Naomi Bailey, his special angel who was always there for him, even to the end. Melvin is survived by his loving sisters, Doris Geary and husband Beryl of White and Ruthann Vokes and husband Ronald and brother Joseph and wife Sue both of Mount Pleasant. Also surviving are two special sisters-in-law, Phyllis and Christine Povlik and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Bob, Jim Povlik and Zigmont Povlik, Jr. Private Services will be held for the family at a time to be determined.
