Patricia Fay Miller, 62 a lifelong resident of Mt. Pleasant entered into eternal rest peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at her home.
Patty was born November 15, 1956 in Mount Pleasant the oldest child of the late Archie Dewain and Dorothy Gale Ullery Miller. Patty was a member and Deacon of the Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren, and was very involved at the Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren, the First Love Ladies Bible Study, Ladies Quilting and the Mt. Joy Singers at Harmon House and sang with Merls Pearls. She was a 1974 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School, Westmoreland County Community College, to become a LPN in 1983 and California College of Health Science, San Diego in 1996 to become a Certified Respiratory Therapist. She was previously employed by Meerhoff Animal Hospital, H.C. Frick Commuinty Hospital as a nurse's aide, LPN and sleep technician for 32 years and also for 12 years at Westmoreland Hospital as a certified respiratory therapist and LifeLine Inc. Patty was also a volunteer of Animal Keepers Rescue, very active at the Mt. Pleasant Food Pantry, the Red Hat Society and Young at Heart. Patty was also a member of Hillbilly Clan #53, Ridge Runners Trailer Club and WOW, Women of Worth at Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren. Patty was always busy doing something, being a member of numerous other organizations.
Patty is survived by her siblings, Nancy Miller Rose (Dave) of Panama City, FL, Terry Dixon (Jim) of Tempe, AZ and Rickey Dewain Miller of Irwin; eight nieces and nephews and two great nieces; her cat Oreo; her best friend Debbie Margiotti Rosey and her favorite high school home economics teacher and friend, Dorothy Cousins. In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Douglas E. Miller.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8PM Tuesday and Wednesday at SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant and from 10am to 11am Thursday at the Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren where services will be held at 11am Thursday with Pastors Lee Smith, Donna Ramer and Henry Landis officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery.
