Phyllis "Tupie" K. Jurkovic Kocis

Phyllis K."Tupie" Jurkovic Kocis 78 of Mt. Pleasant passed away Monday, October 24, 2016. Phyllis was born May 15, 1938 in Mt. Pleasant the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Slaminsky Jurkovic. Phyllis was a 1956 graduate of Hurst High School, formerly employed as a secretary for Robertshaw Control Co and as a composer for the Daily Courier, a member of the Visitation Roman Catholic Church, and a former member of the Visitation Rosary Society and the Everson Senior Citizens. Surviving are her children, James Kocis (Andrea and son Sam) of Mt. Pleasant and Cathy Novakovich (Roy) of N. Huntingdon, also her beloved pets, Nikko and Angel. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Joseph R. Kocis. Friends are invited from 6 to 8PM Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mt. Pleasant where a blessing service will be held at 9:30AM Saturday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at the Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Visitation Cemetery. A parish wake service will be held at 3PM Friday in the funeral home.
