Rev. James Vincent D'Amico, 93, has gone to be with the Lord. He joined his precious wife, Grace, on May 4, 2018. Rev. Jim was born in Brooklyn, NY and obtained his degrees from the New York Bible Institute, Columbia University, Juniata College and Bethany seminary of Chicago, IL.
He served as pastor to Churches of the Brethren in Brooklyn NY, Philadelphia, York, Greensburg, Montgomery, Ligonier and Mt Pleasant, PA for nearly 60 years. Pastoring the many people of his congregations through their times of good and bad experiences was most important to his ministry. Through his efforts of inclusion, many children and adults were able to call the members of the church their family. Rev. Jim served anyone who needed guidance and spiritual support. He was a man of service regularly called upon by hospitals, prisons, and numerous other organizations to support those in need. He always acted without hesitation for those in need.
Jim's family (which was very inclusive) enjoyed his love, support and admiration. His beloved seven siblings are deceased. He is survived by his 4 children: Debbie Beatty (Doug), James D'Amico Jr (Lisa), Frank D'Amico (Kim) and Joseph D'Amico (Jill); eleven grandchildren: Ann Biswas (Rij), Jill Pruszynski (Joe), Ryan Beatty(Kim), Brandon & Amanda D'Amico, Faith, Lauren & Peter D'Amico, Emily, Alex & Nick D'Amico. Joining them are seven great grandchildren: AJ & Anjuli, Quen & Solena, RJ & Tyler, and Tonia. He shared his love with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank his care giver Mary Ann and The Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg for their loving care. Viewing will be held from 6-8pm Thursday at SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W Main St., Mt Pleasant, PA and from 9 to 10 AM at the Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren 494 E Main St. Mt.
