Robert E. Hoke, 83, of Mount Pleasant, (Bullskin Twp.) went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Excela Health, Frick Hospital Mount Pleasant. Bob was born March 1, 1929 in Mount Pleasant the son of the late Homer and Estella Ritenour Hoke. He attended Ramsay High School, Mt. Pleasant and was a lifetime member of the Paradise United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant. Bob worked on his family farm, was a self-employed truck driver and a bus driver for twenty years for the Connellsville School District. He was a charter member of the Bullskin Twp. VFD, the Bullskin Twp. Lions Club, Melvin Jones Fellow and was a forty five year member of Marion Masonic Lodge 562 and the former Pleasant Valley Grange. Bob was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who dearly loved his family and will be sadly missed by all those who knew him and loved him. Bob was happiest when driving his John Deere and spending time with his children. Surviving are his wife of 53 happily married years, Thelma Fenton Hoke; children Allen Hoke and wife Michelle and Jim Hoke and wife Crystal of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Jimmy Hoke, Jr., Callie, Michael and Andrew Hoke and a brother William Hoke and wife Nancy of Mt. Pleasant; also numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by sisters, Rosalie Hoke in 1994 and Emily Hoke in 1999; brothers, Fred Hoke in 1998 and Clinton "Ned" Hoke in 2010 and infant brothers and sister, Clifford and Homer Hoke Jr. and Genevieve Hoke. Family and friends are invited from 6 to 8PM Sunday and 2 to 8 PM Monday to the SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE, INC 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant (724-547-2122) and from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday at the Paradise United Methodist Church 105 Hoke Road Mt. Pleasant where services will be held at 11AM with Pastors Gary Atkinson and David Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery. Contributions in Bob's memory may be made to the Paradise United Methodist Church. The Bullskin Twp. VFD will conduct a service Sunday at 7PM in the funeral home. The Bullskin Twp. Lions Club will conduct a service Monday at 7PM followed by Marion Masonic Lodge 562 service at 7:30PM in the funeral home. Please visit www.saloom-rega.com to send a condolence.
