Roland E. Sikorski, 90, of Hobart, Indiana passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Avalon Springs Health Campus, Valparaiso. Roland was born April 24, 1933 in Sturgis, Michigan to the late David T. and Pearl J. (Kolassa) Sikorski. Roland married Agnes S. Gavlak on October 28, 1961 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, Bronson, Michigan. Roland graduated from Bronson High School in 1952. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. He attended Greer Technical Institute in Chicago where he received a degree in Auto and Diesel Mechanics. Roland was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 783 and The American Legion. He was an avid gardener spending hours in his garden. He is survived by his wife, Agnes; daughter, Elisa (Frank) Berger of New Carlisle, IN and his grandchildren, Teresa Berger and Andrew Berger. He was preceded in death by both parents, brother, Donald (Martha) Sikorski and sister, Harriet (Ray) Wotta. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 2 to 7:00 p.m. with a Hobart Moose Lodge #783 service at 6:45 p.m. and Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 8:00 to 9:00 AM, with prayers beginning at 9:15 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart, proceeding to St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 W. Harrison Blvd, Valparaiso for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Interment at St. Timothy Cemetery, Smithton, Pennsylvania on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
