Romayne Catherine Hunter, age 83, of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, died on March 25, 2026.

Romayne was born on July 25, 1942, in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph Mayernik and Elizabeth Rusinko. She grew up in the Mount Pleasant / Greensburg area and graduated from Mount Pleasant Township High School. She completed higher education at the Latrobe Hospital School of Nursing. She spent her career as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania and Delaware.She is survived by her two daughters, Diane Simmons and Sandra (David) Rickel; two grandchildren, Nicole (Sam) Davidson, Emily (Jack) Rickel; three step-grandchildren, Eric (Niki) Simmons, Kyle (Becca) Simmons, and Cory (Ethan) Whitaker-Simmons; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters Constance (Jordan) Burick and Janis (Fred) Wooley; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Matthew Simmons.The family would like to thank the staff of The Villages at Harmon House for their kindness and care of Romayne. She will be laid to rest on March 28, 2026, in Saint Mary Byzantine cemetery, Trauger.
