Ronald C. Ondrejko, 72, of Hunker, PA passed away June 27, 2021. Ron was born August 29, 1948 in Michigan, the son of the late Charles and Sophie Staryarsky Ondrejko. He was a former member of the St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Scottdale, as veteran of the Vietnam War. He served with the Army, attaining the rank of Sgt. and earning the National Defense Service Medal, Paratrooper Qualification, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal (with 4 Bronze Stars), Combat Infantry Medal, Air Medal and a Purple Heart, he was a very proud veteran. He grew up in Michigan, and as a teenager, served with the pit crew of the Doug Nash Racing Team. His passion were his cars, motorcycles and drag racing. Ron is survived by his cousin, Shawn Starenchak of Youngwood; also numerous other cousins and all of his very close friends. Family and friends are invited to Ron's service in the chapel of the Westmoreland County Memorial Park at 10AM Tuesday, July 6, 2021 with Fr. Oleh Seremchuk officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 446 Mt. Pleasant, followed by entombment next to his parents in the cemetery mausoleum.
