Ruth Ahlborn Lessman

Ruth Ahlborn Lessman 87, of Mount Pleasant passed away Wednesday January 1, 2014 at the Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Ruth was born June 3, 1926, a daughter of the late John George and Laura Snyder Ahlborn. She was a member of the Middle Presbyterian Church, Mt. Pleasant Twp.,serving on the Church Women's Guild and as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. Ruth was a 1943 graduate of Hurst High School where she was a member of the high school band and the All Girl Band. Music was always a great love of her life, whether it was playing the piano for the Mount Pleasant First Brethren Church, serving as the organist at Middle Presbyterian Church, or volunteering at Harmon House, where for nearly twenty years she played the piano for sing-a-longs. She was a member of the American Legion Post 446 Auxiliary for over 50 years serving as secretary for 20 years.. Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Charles Raymond Lessman, daughters, Sandra Anderson and husband Bruce of Morgantown, WV, Judith Stinebiser and husband Randall of Berlin, MD, Mary Chedrick and husband Daniel of Greensburg and Mina Crusan of New Stanton; grandchildren, Diane Stinebiser, Kristin Rubin, Robert Stinebiser, Daniel Chedrick, Jr., Jenifer Bray, Christopher Crusan and Nathan Anderson; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Chedrick, Kirstin Chedrick, Daniel Chedrick, Margaret Rubin, Amy Bray, Olivia Stinebiser, Hannah Rubin, Spencer Stinebiser, Joshua Crusan, William Bray, Madelynne Anderson, Makenze Crusan, Molly Stinebiser, Hunter Chedrick, and Skylar Anderson; a sister, Gertrude Brown of Mt. Pleasant and a brother, Richard Ahlborn of Leesburg, FL. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Catherine Andrews, Laura Myers, Emma Lopes and June Whetzel; brothers, Ira Ahlborn, William Ahlborn and George Ahlborn. The family is inviting friends from 2 to 8PM Friday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. MAIN STREET MOUNT PLEASANT (724-547-2122) and from 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the Middle Presbyterian Church Rte. 981 Mt. Pleasant where services will be held at 11AM Saturday with Rev Linda Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in the Middle Presbyterian Cemetery.
