Sigismund M. "Zig" Radzilowski 81 of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully Monday, May 16, 2016 at Excela Health Frick Hospital surround by his loving family. Zig was born May 17, 1934 in Everson the son of the late Zygmunt and Louise Zajac Radzilowski. Zig was a 1951 graduate of Scottdale High School, Korean War Air Force veteran, a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant and former member of the Slovak Club and VFW Post 3368, Mt. Pleasant. Zig was formerly employed as a welder for the Durloy Corp. Scottdale retiring after 44 years of service. Zig's hobby was creating the best sausage and kolbassi in the world and sharing it with his many friends and relatives. Surviving are his wife Diane Whipkey Kurpiel Radzilowski; his children, AnnaMaria Greenawalt and husband Jim of Everson and Marci Kintigh and husband Jim of Hunker; grandchildren Hannah, Kerigan and Logan Kintigh, Michael Radzilowski and wife Rachel and Steven Greenawalt : great grandchildren, Alex, Hunter, Mason and Brianna. Step-children Ronald Kurpiel and wife Nicole and children, Brett and Bryce, Brian Kurpiel and wife Leanne and Madison and Kim Randolph and husband Eric. Sisters, Genevieve Mazurik of Markleysburg, Eleanore Rega Bentley of Mt. Pleasant and Loretta Capo of Connellsville; and a brother, Vince Radzilowski of Cleveland. Also numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Zig was preceded in death by his first wife Georgetta Fulmer Radzilowski, February 12, 1994, brothers, Ted and Eugene Radzilowski and a sister, Alice Capo. Friends are invited from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mt. Pleasant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM Friday in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Everyone please go directly to the church. Military honors conducted by American Legion Post 446 will be held at the church following the service. A parish wake service will be held at 3PM Thursday in the funeral home.
