Thelma Mae Keefer 85 of Tarrs, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh after a long battle with cancer. Thelma was born August 19, 1928 in Mount Pleasant the daughter of the late Lloyd and Bhirdell Stoner Perkins. Thelma was a graduate of Youngwood High School; a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Mount Pleasant and was the original Emergency Dispatcher for East Huntingdon VFD and Charter Member of the East Huntingdon VFD Ladies Auxillary; Thelma enjoyed spending time with her husband and family at the family cabin in Sigel. Thelma is survived by her husband of 65 years, Howard N ."Red" Keefer, Jr; children, Howard J. Keefer and wife Linda of Tarrs, Bertha Davis and husband Fred of Dunbar and Jeff Keefer and wife Stacey of Tarrs; Grandchildren, Tracy Cremonese and husband Tony, Fritz Davis and wife Jodie, Julie Davis, Katy Roebuck and husband Matt, John Davis, Kadin, Lane and Jocelyn Keefer and a great grandson, Jason Roebuck: also nieces and nephews. The family is inviting friends from 2 to 8PM Wednesday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant (724-547-2122) where services will be held Thursday (Time to be announced).
