William R. Dunn

William R. Dunn, Jr. 83 of Mt. Pleasant passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at the Hempfield Manor, Greensburg. William was born February 3, 1935 in Mt. Pleasant the son of the late William R. Dunn, Sr. and Pearl Weaver Dunn. Bill was a 1953 graduate of Hurst High School, a veteran of the Navy serving from 1954 to 1958, a member of Masonic Lodge 562 Scottdale and the Valley of Pittsburgh Scottish Rite. Bill was formerly employed by Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel and Sharon Steel Corp.. Surviving are his children, Brian Dunn (Tammy) of Mt. Pleasant, Eston Dunn of FL, William Dunn (Francine) of N. Huntingdon; grandchildren, Lexi, Elijah, Faith; sisters, Ruth Burnett of Washington, PA and Sandra Freeman (Chuck) of Weltytown; sisters-in-law, Edith R. Dunn, Sara Shumar of Mt. Pleasant and Edith R. Shipley of Ft. Wayne, IN; also nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lida King Dunn, a brother, Tom Dunn and sister, Naida Peffer. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 8PM Thursday at SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mt. Pleasant where services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday with Rev. Brian Geesaman officiating. Interment with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post 446 Mt. Pleasant will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park Cemetery, Greensburg.
